Ova Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is one of Brisbane's leading women's health and fertility clinics. Our Camp Hill clinic opened in July 2023, and we are opening our second clinic in Hendra in November 2025. The Business Manager position is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growing start-up with big dreams to become Australia's number one destination for women's health and fertility care. We're looking for a Business Manager who can drive the strategic vision of the business through strong leadership, operational excellence, systems-focused approach, and a deep care for our patients. 

A huge growth opportunity exists in this role: you will be working closely with Ova's founder to drive business growth. Working with Michelle you will have the opportunity to develop your growth mindset, train your entrepreneurial muscles, and get your hands dirty growing Australia's leading women's health and fertility brands. The next 12 months of this role is focused on our Hendra clinic, however, future projects may include continuing clinic expansion to new cities, including interstate, developing Ova branded products, and e-commerce. 

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Business Manager is responsible for the entirety of client experience at Ova. Ensuring our patients are receiving the absolute best care from both a practitioner and admin support lens. The role gives you agency to lead client relations with an expectation of unreasonable hospitality - the perfect candidate will thrive on making someone's day. 

You will manage our practitioner team, ensuring our practitioners are fully booked and thriving in their clinical practice. This includes managing practitioner performance, scheduling regular 1:1's and feedback sessions, and supporting their professional development. 

The Business Manager is responsible for delivering strong revenue performance aligned with business growth objectives and KPIs. The opportunity exists to create a retail vertical including  e-commerce and revenue bonuses will exist should the right candidate want to bring these opportunities to life. 

As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of both of our clinics - the role will have an operational focus, supporting the growth of the business and ensuring uniformity across both clinic sites and streamlining processes to encourage scalability for future clinic expansion. The right candidate will hold the strategic vision of the company whilst implementing operational frameworks for day to day tasks. 

You will also keep the business compliant with a focus on HR processes, WHS, privacy and data. The role will be based across our Camp Hill and Hendra locations.

HOW WILL YOU INFLUENCE THE BUSINESS?

  • Manage all day to day operations, ensuring seamless systems and smooth running of both clinics
  • Lead our team of receptionists, ensuring they are motivated, inspired by their role, and identifying growth opportunities for your team to continue their personal and professional development
  • Ensuring consistency and a uniform standard of excellence across both clinic locations
  • Coaching and developing reception staff to ensure client experience is world class
  • Manage our practitioner team, provide feedback and 1:1s to ensure culture and professional development
  • Manage the clinic email inbox alongside admin team
  • Reporting and data analysis to drive business decisions
  • Adhoc PA duties to the director, including calendar management
  • Lead by example by creating a culture of accountability, ownership and excellence
  • Execute on marketing strategy including social media content creation (Canva and Later)), website maintenance (Wordpress) and newsletter development (MailChimp)

To be our Business Manager is to be Michelle's right hand person, someone who is confident, competent and committed to achieving Ova's strategic vision. 

In addition, we are specifically looking for: 

  • Proven experience managing operations (healthcare not required, hospitality veterans are encouraged to apply)
  • Experience managing a team, and proven examples of your ability to provide feedback
  • Strong systems experience and an ability to provide  examples of times in which you have implemented and enhanced business systems to improve the operation
  • Strong business acumen or a palpable desire to learn, including willingness to take on additional professional development training
  • A strong work ethic and desire to grow and lead a team
