Your Impact:

As Payroll Lead, you'll play an important role in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services across Asahi Beverages. You'll lead a small team that manages payroll operations, data integrity, and compliance across multiple pay frequencies, specifically supporting the Award/EBA population

You'll work closely with stakeholders across HR, Reward, Payroll Compliance, and Finance to support process excellence, ensure high service standards, and deliver a seamless payroll experience for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a small payroll team to deliver accurate and timely payruns.
  • Manage payroll activities across complex award/EBAs with multiple pay frequencies.
  • Partner with stakeholders across HR and business functions to resolve payroll queries and manage escalations.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with taxation, superannuation, and legislative requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement within payroll processes, drawing on frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Maintain alignment with business KPIs, SLAs, and compliance standards.
  • Foster a positive and supportive team culture built on accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.

About You:

You're a hands-on payroll lead with proven leadership experience and strong operational expertise. You've led teams through the day-to-day complexities of payroll, consistently delivering accurate, efficient and compliant outcomes. You lead by example, foster team development and create a supportive environment where people perform at their best.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a payroll team.
  • End-to-end payroll experience in a complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of awards, EBAs and compliance requirements.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound judgement and composure when managing competing priorities.
  • Confidence with payroll systems and openness to change (SuccessFactors experience is a plus).
  • Exposure to continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma (highly regarded).
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style.
