Test Lead / Senior Tester - Payroll Implementation

6-Month Contract | Melbourne or Sydney | Hybrid (3 WFH / 2 Office)

We're seeking an experienced Test Lead or Senior Tester to join a major payroll implementation program with a well-known Australian organisation.

This is a key role in ensuring the success of the implementation, leading and executing the full testing lifecycle across a new payroll system and its integration with Salesforce.

You'll work closely with internal SMEs, technical leads, and the implementation partner to drive quality, ensure accuracy, and support a seamless go-live.

The Opportunity

  • Take end-to-end ownership of test strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Lead integration, system, and parallel payroll testing (validating results between old and new systems).
  • Manage defects and progress tracking using JIRA.
  • Collaborate with payroll, HR, finance, and technical teams, along with external vendors.
  • Be hands-on when required, ideal for someone who enjoys both leading and doing.
  • Influence and push back confidently with stakeholders to maintain delivery quality and timelines.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Test Lead or Senior Tester on large-scale system implementations.
  • Strong background in payroll systems testing, exposure to platforms such as Chris21, Aurion, Preceda, SuccessFactors, ELMO, ADP, Workday, or PayGlobal.
  • Experience with integration and API testing.
  • Skilled in parallel payroll testing.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, less structured environment.
  • Available to start immediately or within 2 weeks.

Why This Role

You'll be joining a project with strong leadership and a trusted delivery partner, rebuilding confidence in a business-critical payroll system. It's a hands-on, high-impact role suited to someone who thrives on ownership and accountability.
