We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join us in launching an exciting new venue in Glen Iris, position commences in mid October.
ABOUT THE VENUE
In November 2025, the esteemed restaurateurs behind Marameo and Il Bacaro will open Bar Sophia – a relaxed neighbourhood bar and dining spot inspired by the new-wave wine bars of Athens – nestled in the leafy surrounds of Central Park Village.
THE ROLE
- Supports kitchen setup and daily operational activities
- Ensures the kitchen consistently meets and surpasses top-quality standards
- Collaborates with the Head Chef on menu innovation and updates
- Consistently achieve the same standard of taste, quality, and presentation in every dish.
- Potential for professional growth and skill development in a professional kitchen setting
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie position
- Minimum 2 years experience with an open fire / grill
- Strong communicator with a team-oriented mindset
- Strong knowledge and expertise in food safety protocols and kitchen practices
- Exceptional skills in managing time and multitasking efficiently
- High level attention to detail
