Learning & Development specialist
.
About the Role
Reporting directly to our Learning and Development Manager, you are primarily responsible for facilitating operational training around print production (both digital cut sheet and wide format), print centre operations for new franchisees, as well as existing franchise owners in the Kwik Kopy network. Additionally, you may facilitate training in other areas, such as print sales, shipping, systems training. We go by the motto that listening is not learning, and telling is not training. For the most part, our training is very interactive, and where possible, very hands on. If you get your energy from being on stage, or lecturing in front of a class (even though that will happen in select situations), this is not a position for you. If you get your energy from telling, showing, and most importantly helping others actually DO a skill or a task, this would be a great opportunity for you.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan for, prepare for, and facilitate classrooms, workshop based, and webinar-based live training.
- Provide subject matter expertise by working side-by-side with our instructional designers to help create world-class training content, and a world-class learning experience
- Working with our instructional designers, produce digital learning assets (online courses, video tutorials, how-to guides, etc.)
- Work with subject matter experts (within our HQ team, suppliers, and Franchise Network) to uncover best practices, processes and procedures to ensure the training is aligned to best practices and optimal methods in the field
- Work with our field teams, as well as individual learners, after the training to ensure the skills and activities trained to are being implemented and executed within the Centers; also identify training needs based on
- Analyse the effectiveness of training and workshops to the employees and develop appropriate modification if needed
- Assist in the planning, coordination and communication of training events
- Remain current on print technologies and systems to incorporate into training curricula
- Build strong relationships with franchisees, staff, and internal stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Requirements:
- In-depth, expert-level experience in print and signs production and installation
- Min 3 yeas Training experience
- Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and the willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in teaching
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to train within a system, using training materials (workbooks, instructor guides, etc.) to ensure quality and consistency from one training to the next
- Positive can-do attitude; flexibility, adaptability and a collaborative, team mentality
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment a plus
- Experience in franchising a plus
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to inspire and engage learners
- Willingness to travel
- Bachelor degree in related fields.
