The Education Team at CareFlight is a specialised and committed team responsible for ensuring that all CareFlight clinicians are provided with the initial and ongoing education and training to ensure safe practice and mission readiness. They are also responsible for the design, delivery and quality control of our community education programs, RTO courses and commercial offerings. We are looking for a highly motivated team player with a genuine interest in the power of education and commitment to team. The role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic operations professional to lead the delivery of CareFlight's Education and Training program, and execution of the business plan nationwide. The role will report to the Chief Operations Officer, and work in partnership with the Medical Director of Education and Training.
Key objectives include:
• Coordinate and oversee multiple concurrent training projects, ensuring they are scheduled appropriately and delivered on time and within budget.
• Own the Education & Training 'cost' budget.
• Work closely with the 'strategic partnerships team' (accountable for BD, shares responsibility for E&T revenue targets), to deliver or exceed the annual departmental P&L budget.
• Lead and enable a highly skilled, geographically disparate, team to achieve high quality and innovative course delivery.
• Develop operational KPI's and metrics that monitor quality of education delivery, operational health, monitor financial performance, and support accurate forecasting. Frequency would ideally be weekly, monthly and quarterly.
• Ensure compliance with Medical College accreditation standards that underpin staffing and operational delivery of clinical care.
• Ensure compliance with all Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards (e.g. ASQA), accreditation requirements, and relevant regulatory frameworks for education delivery.
• Maintain oversight of CareFlight's Learning Management Systems (LMS) including aXcelerate and Acorn, ensuring optimal functionality, accurate record-keeping, reporting, and continuous improvement of the learner experience.
• Work closely with the Medical Director of E&T to ensure the content of training material meets the clinical standards as outlined in CareFlights clinical guidelines and policies and procedures.
• Contribute to CareFlights Social Purpose by delivering community E&T where it is most needed in accordance with organisational plans.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Essential
• Greater than 5 years demonstrated leadership in a complex large, geographically dispersed operational environment with a demonstrated track record in the achievement of budgets, targets and agreed project timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and engage by building and maintaining relationships within and around the team
• Demonstrated transformational leadership style and curious mindset
• Demonstrated ability to find collaborative solutions to complex problems.
• Ability to think laterally, problem solve with a "can do" attitude and a strong work ethic.
• A relentless commitment to 'excellence'.
• Excellent project management skills including the use of high-level project planning software.
• Strong financial and/or numeric skills including the ability to develop and manage budgets
• Demonstrated understanding of RTOs and previous experience working in this environment.
• Demonstrated technical competence in the use of contemporary Learning Management Systems and CRM.
• Demonstrated experience managing a diverse technical casual workforce that works autonomously.
• High paced/ urgent mindset with the ability to develop and project-manage multiple concurrent priorities in a complex environment.
• Willingness to work flexibly as needed.
• High level communication, interpersonal and teamwork skill
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
• Current Driver's Licence.
Highly Desirable
• Greater than 5 years' experience leading an educational (training delivery) workforce in a clinical environment.
