About the Firm
Aila Rose Melasecca Barristers & Solicitors is a boutique law firm based in the Melbourne CBD.
We pride ourselves on honesty and integrity, with the highest level of care and support.
The firm is comprised of a team of four – One Principal Solicitor, two Junior Solicitors and one Paralegal, who all work closely together to deliver first-class legal support to our clients.
Our main practice areas are Migration, Commercial and Family Law, as well as offering General Law Practice in a wide range of areas.
We are looking for 2 Casual Paralegals to join our team and assist our Principal with the management of Accounts and Trust monies as well as in handling a number of Migration and Family law cases.
This role requires the candidate to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and proofreading legal documents such as Statutory Declarations and Affidavits.
- Assist our Team to deliver high quality legal services to our clients and promote a client-focused, agile, and feedback-oriented organisational culture.
Key Selection Criteria
- As an experienced paralegal, you will have legal support and accounts administration experience as well as legal experience preferably in migration and family law.
- You will be organised, resilient and flexible with a proven track record in offering legal support to solicitors.
To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:
- High level of attention to detail when billing clients and preparing all financial documents on behalf of the firm;
- Sound understanding of immigration and family law, with an ability to undertake legal research and review legal documents;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to prepare a range of legal documents and strong attention to detail;
- High-level planning and prioritisation skills, with an ability to work to deadlines;
- Ability to provide client-focused legal and administrative support with limited supervision or precedent; and
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, manage and contact clients, and build effective working relationships at all levels.
Candidates who speak a second language will be considered favourably.
