We are hiring a full-time Head Chef/Sous Chef with requirements to work weekends and the occasional evening shift. We are a small but busy restaurant in Port Melbourne. If you have proven abilities in creating and preparing Vietnamese fusion dishes and leading a team of 5-6 staff, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities and Duties:
food preparation
cooking to order
ordering stock (working within budgets)
leading a team of 5-6 staff
training junior staff
complying with all food health and safety requirements.
recording all figures for food safety logbook
dealing with suppliers.
creating new dishes.
Experience required:
must have certificate IV in commercial cookery
minimum 3 years experience as a chef
must have proven wok skills
must be able to work within budgets
Other requirements:
must be able to work on weekends and with a rotating roster
must be a strong team player and able to work in busy environment
'can-do' attitude and cooperative behaviour
passionate about providing high quality of food
