We are hiring a full-time Head Chef/Sous Chef with requirements to work weekends and the occasional evening shift. We are a small but busy restaurant in Port Melbourne. If you have proven abilities in creating and preparing Vietnamese fusion dishes and leading a team of 5-6 staff, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • food preparation

  • cooking to order

  • ordering stock (working within budgets)

  • leading a team of 5-6 staff

  • training junior staff

  • complying with all food health and safety requirements.

  • recording all figures for food safety logbook

  • dealing with suppliers.

  • creating new dishes. 

Experience required:

  • must have certificate IV in commercial cookery

  • minimum 3 years experience as a chef

  • must have proven wok skills

  • must be able to work within budgets

Other requirements:

  • must be able to work on weekends and with a rotating roster

  • must be a strong team player and able to work in busy environment

  • 'can-do' attitude and cooperative behaviour

  • passionate about providing high quality of food
