Are you an experienced Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to take the lead in a vibrant bistro kitchen?
Our client is seeking a passionate and hands-on Full-Time Head Chef to join their team in Ferntree Gully. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a busy kitchen, lead a small team, and deliver exceptional dining experiences for both bistro and function guests.
Roster:
- Tuesday: Flexibility required – one dinner service per month
- Wednesday to Friday: Lunch & dinner service
- Saturday: Dinner service only
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen management, including food preparation and plating
- Manage ordering and stock control, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimal waste
- Maintain compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards
- Food Safety Supervisor certification is required
- Develop and update menus for both bistro service and functions
- Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff to deliver consistent, high-quality meals
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready for the next step
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Passion for fresh, quality food and a creative approach to menu planning
- Understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and rostering
- Ability to work across both lunch and dinner services
- Australian work rights are required
