The role

You will lead a busy and diverse team based in the Grafton/Coffs Harbour office that manages the Crown estate and its assets across the far north coast of NSW. The role is responsible for work allocation and service delivery of a range of Crown land administration, property management, environmental planning, natural resource and land management functions.

Your outstanding customer service and collaboration skills will see you developing, maintaining, and fostering relationships with key internal and external stakeholder such as local Councils, Crown Land Managers, tenure holders, and local members of Parliament.

Previous Crown land administration or government experience not essential.

What you will bring to the role

  • Knowledge and understanding of land administration, natural resource and asset management, environmental planning and land management
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven staff leadership qualities, including the ability to remotely manage staff
  • Experience in project management
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders and clients across the far north coast of NSW
  • Self-directed, displays initiative and able to solve problems and deliver practical outcomes
  • Time management, prioritisation and organisational skills to manage a high workload amongst competing priorities.

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • Current drivers' licence, with the ability and willingness to travel (including air travel).
