Launceston Airport is planning for an exciting period of growth. Great Project Management opportunity available to support our capital development program (2 Year Fixed-Term Contract)
We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our team. This role will agilely lead and direct capital development projects across Launceston Airport. The position will have exposure to a wide variety of projects, potentially working across major Terminal/Arrivals Hall works, Amenities upgrade, Airfield Projects and more.
This position manages project delivery to industry standards, ensuring they meet regulatory, corporate, and business objectives within a live airport environment. The role involves interfacing with various stakeholders and overseeing external consultants and contractors to successfully deliver projects on budget, to program and to a high quality.
Key Responsibilities
The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Successfully deliver major capital development works for Launceston Airport to a high standard, ensuring project milestones are met, and that delivery, performance and financial targets are achieved.
- Provide leadership in all aspects of the capital works projects from feasibility and project team performance through to completion, and ensure that regulatory, corporate, and business objectives are met.
- Manage Contractor engagement and relationships on behalf of Launceston Airport.
- Manage Consultants and external PM resource on individual projects.
- Support project teams to manage risks and resolve issues impacting project delivery, including managing sensitive negotiations.
- Assist, guide and manage aviation partners, tenants, and stakeholders through the delivery of the development works.
- Monitor Safety, Environment and Quality compliance across Launceston Airport projects.
- Manage Project financials and progress
- Conduct contractor site management audits including safety and environmental assessments.
- Manage Airport Building Controller permits and process.
- Lead and manage environmental matters associated with capital projects in consultation with the Environment team
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement that benefits Launceston Airport and the capital delivery team
- Lead and drive the creation of a high performing Construction Team that meets the agreed level of service for project delivery and foster a positive workplace culture.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Established Project Management background within the construction industry focusing on building and civil infrastructure projects.
- Tertiary education in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management is beneficial
- Experience with managing the delivery of capital programs and budgets.
- Robust experience with project and contract management.
