The PositionThe People Project Tasmania is in a unique position to offer an exceptional individual a role within their primary health workforce team. The team are all experts in their field, and you will receive ongoing training and support to excel in advising practices to be their best.
The practice management consultant will collaborate with our existing practice support team to provide professional development to business owners/practice managers, promote sustainable business practice and build expertise in recruitment and management of staff within allied health and GP practices.
The ability to deal with a range of stakeholders, including GP's, allied health professionals, practice managers/business owners, government organisations and a whole range of internationally trained medical professionals will be a critical part of your day-to-day role.
The position can be based in Launceston and is full time fixed term contract position for 12 months. This is a new and exciting initiative funded to develop workforce planning and you will have your chance for input. The ideal candidate will have practice or business management experience in the allied health or general practice space and/or have a deep understanding of the issues, challenges and opportunities for these business types.
What you'll bringWe're looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You should have:
- A comprehensive understanding of the business operations in general practice/allied health practice
- Outstanding organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload accordingly
- Well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
- An understanding of primary care in Tasmania - with an emphasis on the challenges faced in rural Tasmania
- An understanding of accreditation standards in general practice, and allied health registration bodies such as NRAS
- An understanding of billing requirements for Medicare and/or NDIS
- An autonomous working style, with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
The People Project Tasmania is a not-for-profit incorporated association contracted by the Australian and Tasmanian governments to recruit and retain general practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals in Tasmania, with an emphasis on rural and remote communities. Our organisation is one of seven Rural Workforce Agencies funded by the Australian Government nationally. The People Project Tasmania also delivers the Health Workforce Scholarship Program and is a registered NDIS provider of Coordination of Supports and Plan Management.
The People Project Tasmania main office is in Launceston with satellite offices in George Town and Devonport. This role will be based in the Launceston Office, but with some travel throughout the state. Our offices have been fitted out with the latest technology and the greenery is multiplying by the day. What's on offer?This role offers a salary of $83,429 to $86,140 p.a. (pro rata) plus access to Salary Packaging, boosting your take-home pay. The position is offered at a 1.0 FTE.
