The Marketing Executive is an integral part of the Marketing and Publicity team, responsible for the ongoing marketing of some of our biggest brand-name authors, as well as elevating the Pan Macmillan brand both nationally and internationally. The role involves developing innovative marketing strategies, executing targeted campaigns, and identifying new promotional opportunities beyond traditional book marketing. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with strong project management skills and a passion for publishing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of marketing campaigns for individual books, series, and brand initiatives.
  • Work within budget parameters to manage advertising and promotional activities effectively.
  • Identify advertising, promotional, sales, and cross-promotion opportunities to maximise audience engagement.
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive digital marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and drive engagement across online platforms.
  • Lead content planning and execution for company and author social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice, marketing objectives, and current trends.
  • Execute targeted paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
  • Stay up to date with changes in digital algorithms and best practices to ensure marketing efforts remain effective and compliant.
  • Oversee the creative and production of marketing materials in both traditional and digital spaces
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships
  • Foster an organisational culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Proven ability to plan, execute, and evaluate marketing campaigns effectively.
  • Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing copy.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently when leading campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a diverse publishing program and author base.

OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • A diploma or degree in marketing or communications or experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of the Australian publishing sector, including market trends, key players, and best practices.
  • Number of years' experience in a similar role.

This is a full-time position based in Sydney.
