Sox Hospitality is a dynamic and growing hospitality group celebrated for creating venues that blend exceptional design, bold flavours, and great energy.

As we prepare to launch our newest beachside café in the heart of Surfers Paradise, we're seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to bring creativity, leadership, and precision to our kitchen team. This is your chance to shape the culinary identity of a new Gold Coast favourite — from concept to creation.

About the Role

Working closely with our Executive Chef, you'll take the lead in designing and delivering a fresh, innovative menu that celebrates modern Australian café culture — from standout breakfasts to signature beachside bites.

You'll oversee all kitchen operations, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment, and ensuring every dish reflects our commitment to quality, consistency, and creativity. (And the best part — no late nights)

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute seasonal, on-trend menus that drive guest satisfaction and profitability
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a motivated back-of-house team
  • Manage all kitchen operations including prep, service, and stock control
  • Oversee food cost management, supplier relationships, and inventory systems
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with senior management on operational and brand initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume café or casual dining venue
  • Strong leadership and communication skills — able to inspire and build culture
  • A creative, forward-thinking approach to food and presentation
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities
  • Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety
  • Full Australian working rights and availability for early starts
