About the Opportunity
The NSW Telco Authority is delivering some of the most complex and high-impact telecommunications projects in the state – ensuring government agencies, emergency services, and communities can connect when it matters most.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to lead and deliver highly complex projects, including:
- Critical infrastructure asset development
- Network Security and Resilience
- Office relocation
In this role, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle – from business case development through to delivery and evaluation. You will work across technical, operational, and strategic programs, managing budgets, resources, customers and suppliers while ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of critical and highly complex projects applying best-practice project management principles.
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle including scope, planning, resourcing, risk management, benefits realisation and reporting.
- Oversee supplier, procurement, and contract management to ensure performance and value-for-money outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication, consultation and negotiation.
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice to executives on project status, risks and emerging issues.
Key Challenges
- Balancing competing stakeholder priorities while delivering to agreed timeframes and quality standards.
- Managing interdependencies across large-scale, multi-stream programs in a fast-paced and sensitive environment.
- Ensuring appropriate engagement with Customers, Partners, and other stakeholders
- Leading project teams where members may have dual reporting lines or competing priorities.
Essential Criteria : Applicant should hold Valid NV1 security clearance or should be an Australian Citizen Eligible to secure NV1 security clearance
About You : You are an accomplished project manager with a track record of delivering large-scale ICT, technology innovation and infrastructure projects. You thrive in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and can navigate competing priorities with resilience and focus.
You will bring to this role:
- Demonstrated experience managing highly complex technology and infrastructure projects including office fit-out/relocation projects.
- Strong skills in project planning, governance, financial management and procurement.
- Advanced ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
- Security clearance or ability to attain security clearance.
- NSW Government or Telecommunications Industry experience.
- Australian Driver's License and ability to travel to location of works.
