About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Employee Allocations Coordinator to join our Stevedoring Team in Townsville for Maternity Leave Coverage for 6 months - full time, with potential for future work.  Reporting to the Stevedoring Manager, this position is primarily responsible for providing high level administrative support by effectively planning daily stevedoring labour rosters in accordance with shipping schedules, employee skills and company policies and guidelines.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • At all times comply with NSS Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements;
  • Plan daily stevedoring labour and manage annual leave, rostered weekends off, and days in lieu;
  • Provide a point of contact for employee enquiries regarding shift allocation;
  • Maintain database systems through effective data entry to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of information;
  • Liaise with labour hire organisations to arrange supplementary personnel;
  • Accurately collate timesheets for the finance team to process payroll; and
  • Provide general administrative support.

About You

We are seeking candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • A current driver's licence;
  • High-level administration skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Xcel a must:
  • Confidence to work autonomously and as part of a team, with the ability to lead and collaborate as needed;
  • An ability to quickly learn new information, systems and processes; and
  • An understanding of Enterprise Agreements and/or Awards.
  • Previous work experience with rostering is highly desirable.
