Are you highly organized, people-focused, and ready to play a key role in keeping our vessels moving safely and efficiently?
SeaLink North Queensland is looking for a Marine Operations Coordinator to join our team in Townsville.
About the Role
SeaLink North Queensland is seeking a driven and experienced Marine Operations Coordinator to support our daily vessel and tourism operations based in Townsville, QLD – a vibrant coastal city offering an enviable tropical lifestyle and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef.
As the Marine Operations Coordinator, you'll be the vital link between crew, shore-based teams, and management. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role where no two days are the same – from rostering and compliance, to crew support, logistics, and communication.
You'll help ensure our fleet runs smoothly and safely while supporting crew welfare, training, and onboarding. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and can juggle multiple priorities with a positive attitude.
What you'll Be Doing
- Coordinating crew rosters, shifts, and leave planning.
- Supporting vessel logistics, maintenance scheduling, and compliance record-keeping.
- Assisting with crew onboarding, inductions, and training database management.
- Acting as the main communications point between vessels and shore teams.
- Managing operational platforms (Deputy, MEX, EMC, Blink, SkyTrust, Go1, SMS Global).
- Helping with charters, passenger number reporting, and timetable updates.
- Acknowledging crew milestones and supporting staff engagement.
- Providing general administrative support to the Marine Operations Manager and team.
About What We're Looking For
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with IT systems and databases (experience with Deputy, MEX or similar a bonus).
- A team player who can also work independently with initiative.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional after-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS).
- First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in tourism, transport, or marine operations (desirable).
- Rostering or workforce coordination experience.
Why Join SeaLink?
- Work with a nationally recognized marine and transport operator.
- Be part of a supportive, close-knit North Queensland team.
- Variety in your role – every day will bring something different.
- Contribute to connecting communities across the region.
