Your Opportunity

Are you an experienced purchasing professional with a background in manufacturing?

If so, then this role will suit you if you have proven purchasing experience and enjoy working in sourcing, supplier management, and stock control. You'll be the type of person who thrives on ownership of your work, communicates well with different departments, and is confident building strong supplier relationships.

You'll be joining a well-established global manufacturing business that and work closely with a supportive team. The business values attention to detail, efficiency, and collaboration, and you'll be given the opportunity to contribute to process improvements while supporting production requirements.

You'll work alongside a Planner, Logistics Coordinator, and Senior Manager, with purchasing being your key focus. The position involves close communication with production, warehouse, logistics, sales, and finance teams, giving you broad exposure and variety in your day-to-day work.

This is a full-time, onsite position with flexible start / finish in a business that promotes an inclusive, social, team culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Raise and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships, with a focus on steel and manufacturing materials.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply chain.
  • Resolve supplier issues, including delivery and invoicing discrepancies.

Inventory & Production Support

  • Work with production and warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Monitor demand, prepare regular orders, and support monthly stocktake.
  • Ensure ERP records (Microsoft Dynamics) are accurate and up to date.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with logistics, planning, sales, and finance teams to align on costs, deliveries, and forecasts.
  • Support the wider team by assisting with purchasing tasks when covering leave.
  • Contribute to process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

About You

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • Minimum 3 years' purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously and independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics highly regarded) and solid MS Office skills.
