Connect APAC have been exclusively engaged by a global FMCG organisation, who are a market leader in the Confectionary space to source a Field Sales Manager for their Victoria based sales team. This organisation have some of the world's most loved confectionary brands and have a reputation for both extensive local and international career development opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the assigned team of Grocery + Mass Territory Managers (x6) to deliver all in-store activities and the delivery of all Field KPIs and Targets. There will also be some responsibility for managing some State based MSO groups within the Independent Channel. The role will have a high focus on people management and will be responsible for the building and development of a high-performance sales team through ongoing focus to coaching and mentoring each team member according to their Individual Development Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise all Direct Reports, including all Grocery Territory Managers and Independent Territory Managers.
- State Manager relief - Assume all State Manager responsibilities when the State Manager is on leave.
- Build and maintain relationships with Key Customers (store and Area/Regional Managers) to maximise sales opportunities each session.
- Meet Key customer contacts to upsell major activities and negotiate additional display activity for all Priority 1 and 2 activations.
- Manage some Independent Tier 2 customers within the state negotiating ranging and distribution, Pre-Packs and Display Activity for key events.
- Develop plans to achieve all display and Execution Quality targets as outlined in the Activity Execution Guide.
- Ensure the Availability of all POS Material for activations in-store, including the ordering of all POS to Local Sheds in a timely manner.
- Participate in the recruitment of Territory Managers, Regional Merchandisers and seasonal helpers as required.
- Ensure Performance of all Territory Managers is in accordance with Company Standards and core values and fulfils the requirements of their roles.
- Implement approved Performance Management Plans as required
- Support the development and ongoing review of Individual Development Plans for all team members.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualification in a relevant field.
- FMCG experience desirable - Food/Bev/Consumer Healthcare or General Consumer Goods.
- Exposure to Grocery/Independent Grocery channel.
- Account Management experience desirable, particularly with MSO Groups.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams skills.
- Experience in Managing and Developing a team of Territory Managers.
- Influencing & Negotiation skills.
- Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills.
