About Us

The Financial Counselling Industry Fund (FCIF) is a newly established charity dedicated to increasing access to financial counselling services for Australians experiencing financial vulnerability. Backed by a $36 million commitment over three years from industry partners, we are investing in service innovation, delivery and workforce capability.

We are a small, passionate team working to make a big difference – focused on practical solutions that help people regain control of their financial lives.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and creative Communications Manager to lead our communications and engagement strategy – shaping how we connect, influence and grow. Reporting to the CEO, you will design and deliver content and campaigns that build our profile, strengthen stakeholder relationships and tell the story of our impact.

This is a hands-on role where you'll:

  • Create content across multiple formats
  • Manage our CRM and website
  • Support events and campaigns
  • Ensure our brand is consistent and compelling

Who We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in communications and stakeholder engagement, with at least five years of bringing ideas to life and building meaningful connections
  • A love of storytelling, with the ability to craft content that moves people and amplifies impact
  • Confidence using HubSpot or similar CRM platforms to manage campaigns, contacts and content
  • A creative eye and practical design skills in Canva, plus experience managing websites and social media
  • A proactive mindset and excellent organisational skills to juggle priorities and keep things moving

Helpful but not essential

  • Understanding of the charitable or philanthropic sectors
  • Experience in social impact evaluation or reporting
  • Experience working in a small team environment

You don't need to tick every box - if you're a strong communicator with a passion for social impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What We Offer

We offer a collaborative and supportive work environment, where your contribution helps deliver meaningful outcomes for Australians experiencing financial distress.

  • A flexible hybrid work arrangement, with negotiable hours
  • Competitive salary: $100,000 to $110,000 p.a. (pro rata) plus super
  • Access to $15,600 salary packaging
  • Monthly phone allowance, and additional Christmas leave
  • A small, purpose-driven team where your work has real impact

Diversity and Inclusion

We value diversity and believe that different perspectives make our team stronger. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

If you are passionate about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every listed qualification. Your unique experiences and skills could be just what we are looking for.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a cover letter to outlining your relevant experience and why this is the perfect role for you

Join us in making a difference in the lives of Australians in financial distress.
