Communications and Engagement Manager
who thrives in a hands-on role and enjoys shaping systems, improving workflows, and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients and communities.
The Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across all parts of a project — from strategy and delivery through to reporting and refinement. You'll:
- Develop and implement engagement strategies for development and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities such as newsletters, briefings, community drop-ins, and consultation sessions.
- Manage project communications, stakeholder databases, and feedback systems to meet government and agency reporting requirements.
- Prepare engagement reports and contribute to Social Impact Assessments (SIAs).
- Conduct social and demographic research, track policy developments, and support project insights.
- Contribute to project administration, proposals, invoicing, and internal reporting.
- Help establish consistent tools, templates, and processes that improve efficiency across the communications function.
- Support integrated project delivery and aligned messaging between Willowtree Communications and Willowtree Planning.
About You
You'll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in
Communications, Public Relations, Urban Planning, Social Science, or a related field
. - Experience in stakeholder engagement, community consultation, or communications within the
development or infrastructure sectors
. - Strong writing and communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and correspondence for councils, agencies, and clients.
- An interest in process improvement and building structured systems within a growing consultancy.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Understanding of the
NSW planning framework
or social impact considerations (highly regarded).
Reporting Structure
This role reports to the
Director – Willowtree Communications
, with a dotted-line relationship to the
General Manager and Directors of Willowtree Planning
, ensuring integration across shared projects and business operations.
