Football Victoria (FV) is the governing body for football in Victoria.
We are recognised as the organisation responsible for the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal (indoor football) in the state by both the State and Federal Governments, as well as Football Australia (FA).
Our funding derives from membership and club affiliation fees, government grants and corporate sponsorship.
Through the national body's affiliation with FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), we look after everything football in Victoria including:
- Semi-professional ranks;
- Amateurs;
- Youth;
- Referees;
- Coaches;
- Officials;
- Volunteers.

FV are a not-for-profit sporting organisation run by a Board of Directors. We reinvest any money generated by the game in a financially prudent manner, prioritising in providing more coaching, education, facilities, support and participation opportunities to the community and our partners back to where it is needed most.
We currently employ over 80 staff to deliver on the FV Strategic Plan ("Our Football") and administration of weekly football matches, producing annual football fixtures and appropriate rules of competition. Referees are also appointed to these matches to facilitate a safer and more enjoyable participation experience.
We also deliver education programs and resources to talented players, coaches, referees, and club volunteers while promoting the game through various channels, keeping our members informed regularly through a dedicated communications program.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary purpose of the role is to lead the strategy and day to day outputs of the Finance function, ensuring that FV's finances are maintained at best practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main activities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Lead the FV Finance team (Senior Financial Accountant, Management Accountant and Accounts Officer).
- Strategic business partnering with key stakeholders.
- Lead and manage the budget and reforecast processes.
- Produce accurate monthly financial reporting packs related to budgets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, revenue, etc.
- Manage and report on cashflow management, including key insights and recommendations.
- Review and analyse all FV financial information.
- Key lead in annual audit with external auditors, including assisting in preparation of annual financial report.
- Manage FV's insurance program, including annual renewal and stakeholder support.
- Support Board reporting processes.
- Assistance with KPI reporting.
- Develop long term business plans based on reports to support FV's strategy.
- Monitor financial details to ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.
- Develop strategies and policies to reduce financial risk.
- Establish and refine key processes and outputs.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Preparation of financial reports to required standard and by due dates.
- Key contact and support for internal FV departments.
- Accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Core finance functions running effectively and within required timeframes.
- All deadlines are met.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- 5-8 years' work experience post qualification in accounting.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting.
- CA/CPA qualified.
- Commercial and business acumen.
Desirable
- Advanced accounting principles gained from a middle to large tier professional services accounting firm.
Skills
- The ability to develop strong working relationships and manage a team.
- Strong skills in excel with experience in complex financial modelling.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to maintain exceptionally high levels of accuracy in preparation and presentation of data.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Evidence of a values based approach to execution of deliverables.
- High levels of energy to drive a customer service and business partnering mindset.
