About Bennji
Bennji is a forward-thinking business within a well-established parent company, Solvar Limited. Our mission is to lead the way in customer engagement through innovative, responsive and flexible solutions.
We empower Australian businesses with reliable and straightforward finance options for vehicles, equipment, and more, taking the complexity and stress out of commercial finance. Our commitment is to deliver fast, flexible financing designed to fuel our customers' growth—whether it's upgrading a work vehicle, investing in essential equipment, or expanding a fleet.
At Bennji, we focus on efficiency, transparency, and building genuine partnerships. Our tailored loan solutions are crafted to streamline every step of the process, allowing our customers to concentrate on what matters most: running and expanding their business with confidence.
About the Role
As a Commercial Settlements Officer at Bennji, you'll be pivotal in delivering a seamless and efficient settlement experience for our commercial lending customers. This is a hands-on role requiring close collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including brokers, customers and internal teams. You will take charge of coordinating the settlement process from initial loan approval right through to the successful release of funds, ensuring all steps are completed accurately, on time, and in line with regulatory and company standards. Day to day you will:
- Co-ordinate and manage the entire settlement process for commercial finance transactions, acting as the main point of contact for all parties involved. Proactively monitor progress, identify potential roadblocks, and facilitate smooth communication to keep settlements on track.
- Engage regularly with external brokers and internal teams to gather required documentation, clarify settlement requirements, and provide timely updates.
- Check all settlement documentation including loan contracts, identification, and compliance checklists—to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to both internal policies and regulatory obligations.
- Confirm that every pre-settlement condition such as signed contracts, insurance, and security documentation, has been satisfied before funds are released.
- Assist with the accreditation of new Brokers, working alongside the sales team to gather required information, submit for approval and create the relationship in both the loan application portal and loans management system.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means delivering timely and accurate settlements, upholding the highest standards of compliance, and maintaining strong, professional relationships with all stakeholders. Your dedication to process improvement will help Bennji continue to offer industry-leading service, empowering Australian businesses to grow with confidence.
About you
- You have a strong understanding of how different business types operate within Australia, including trusts, partnerships, sole traders, and companies. You are comfortable navigating and interpreting complex corporate structures and are skilled at identifying key stakeholders and compliance requirements.
- You bring practical experience managing settlement processes for commercial or asset finance transactions, either within a lender or broker environment. You have a proven track record of efficiently coordinating settlements from approval through to funding.
- You are meticulous when reviewing documentation, contracts, and compliance checklists, ensuring accuracy and completeness in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting. Your organisational skills enable you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- You thrive on building relationships with brokers, customers and internal teams. Your communication style is clear, professional, and tailored to your audience, allowing you to resolve issues promptly and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment without compromising on quality or compliance.
- You have up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory environment and best practice standards for commercial lending in Australia, including AML/CTF, KYC, and privacy obligations.
- You are comfortable using loan origination systems, digital document management platforms, and Microsoft Office applications, and you actively contribute ideas to improve settlement processes and enhance efficiency.
- You hold a diploma or higher qualification in business, finance, accounting, or a related field. Additional certifications in financial services, such as a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, are highly regarded.
