About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager, Foster and Kinship Care, the Business Support Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the organisation and assisting corporate services to maintain effective and efficient service delivery across the Foster & Kinship Care division. You will be an effective, determined, and proactive administrator who contributes to the development and smooth operation of daily functions within the organisation. This position requires strong administrative and organisational skills to ensure effective corporate planning, accurate recordkeeping, and predictable processes that support case workers, management, and the senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform accurate data entry, record management, and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, preparing correspondence, and managing compliance documents.
  • Provide administrative support to case workers, leadership, and overall program delivery.
  • Assist with implementing policies and procedures, including training staff on systems and processes.
  • Respond to enquiries from staff, stakeholders, carers, and the public, and follow up on missing documentation from audits.
  • Review and improve administrative processes, compile staff feedback, and manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, meeting schedules, agendas, minutes, and event logistics.
  • Support additional tasks such as donation pickups, community activities, and blue card compliance management.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration, Community Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative or business support role (preferably within community services, child protection, or a similar regulated environment).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) with the ability to prepare spreadsheets, reports, and documentation.
  • Ability to take clear and comprehensive meeting minutes.

  • Current Australian driver's licence (Open or P2) and ability to travel within the Bundaberg area if needed

  • Working with Children Check (blue card) or able to obtain
  • NDIS Working Screening check (yellow card) or able to obtain
  • Satisfactory national police check or able to obtain
  • Satisfactory LCS check or able to obtain
