About the role

As Audience Engagement Officer you will be part of the Ipswich Art Gallery team and responsible for the delivery of the Gallery's audience engagement and promotional strategies. Your main focus will be on delivering highly developed oral, written, and visual communication for a range of audiences.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to plan and create content and initiatives to promote Gallery programming and outreach activities
  • Preparing written and visual material and online content for a range of platforms
  • Maintaining the Gallery's social media and website and monitoring content performance
  • Providing advice to Gallery management on the success of campaigns through the collation and analysis of web and social media statistics, media interest and public feedback
  • Maintaining a very high standard and understanding of Gallery brand, voice, tone, and style across all written communications, in alignment with Council's digital communication strategies and the Gallery's style guide
  • Delivering outcomes effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Visual Arts, Communications or Marketing Degree and/or equivalent experience to carry out the range of duties required
  • Highly developed oral, written, and visual communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders

  • Experience implementing audience engagement strategies across a range of initiatives and projects, including arts and cultural programs

  • Substantial organisational skills in forward planning, and the ability to work on a diverse and concurrent range of projects with agile turnaround times
  • A passion in creating content to a very high standard and a keen eye for detail

  • Demonstrated experience in operating and managing digital and online communications and image and design software

  • Demonstrated knowledge in legal requirements across copyright and image reproduction applications within the museum and gallery context

  • Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

  • Current Blue Card or the ability to obtain one desirable

  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

This is a permanent part time position of four days per week (30 hours), with a salary commencing at $93,866 (pro-rata) plus 12.5% superannuation.
