The Opportunity
We are seeking a driven and proactive Business Development Associate to join our high-performing sales team. This role is pivotal in expanding our footprint among Australian and New Zealand financial advisers through strategic outbound sales activities.
You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing leads, and supporting the broader distribution strategy. This extends to supporting existing strategies and the successful launch of new products to the market. You will represent La Trobe Financial in a professional, friendly manner and demonstrate our corporate values.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound sales calls to financial advisers to generate new business opportunities.
- Promote La Trobe Financial's full asset management product suite - supporting existing strategies and the launch of future strategies
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for senior distribution team members.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and pipeline activity in CRM systems.
- Collaborate with the distribution and marketing teams to execute targeted campaigns.
- Attending Business Development Events – PD Days, Conferences etc
- Provide timely follow-up and support to prospects and clients.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings and regulatory developments.
- Assist in preparing sales materials, presentations, and reports including product comparisons and portfolio blending
- Contribute to team goals and KPIs through consistent performance and initiative.
- Ability to travel as required for divisional workshops, presentations, PD Days and Conferences
- Represent La Trobe Financial in a professional manner and always demonstrate La Trobe Financial's corporate values
About You
This role requires the successful applicant to possess a minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a sales, business development, or client-facing role, preferably within financial services.
Additional skills and experience required include:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably business, commerce or finance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident phone presence.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales reporting tools.
- Understanding of the Australian financial advice landscape is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to problem solve and handle objections.
- Self-motivated to achieve individual and team targets in line with divisional objectives
