About the company
Our client is a long-standing Australian industrial manufacturer with a strong presence in Victoria. They produce a range of specialised products that support large scale projects across multiple sectors, from infrastructure and utilities through to broader construction and engineering. With over a century of experience, they've built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and local capability, sourcing most of their materials domestically and maintaining full control of the production process.
Employees benefit from the stability of an established organisation, exposure to significant national projects, and the chance to contribute to work that has a lasting impact on industries and communities. The business places strong emphasis on safety, sustainability and continuous improvement, creating an environment where people can build long-term careers while being part of a collaborative and supportive team.
About the Role
This is a part-time permanent role (2–3 days per week) based in Melbourne's northern suburbs, with one day working from home. The role involves managing end-to-end payroll for both weekly and monthly cycles, ensuring accurate and timely payments including leave and superannuation, interpreting EBAs and modern awards, and resolving payroll queries. You will maintain employee records and timesheets, liaise with HR, finance, and operations, support month- and year-end reporting, assist with audits, and contribute to ongoing improvements in payroll processes. The role also provides ad hoc support to the wider finance team as required.
About You
You will have 2–3 years' payroll experience, ideally within the manufacturing sector, and be proficient with Employment Hero payroll software. A solid understanding of modern awards, strong attention to detail, and a proven track record of accuracy are essential. You are proactive, analytical, and able to solve problems independently, while also communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders. You can manage competing deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, are a true team player, and have intermediate skills in Word and Excel.
