We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated
Area Sales Manager for our Industrial Division
. We are expanding our presence in the industrial sector and growing into the traction lift market. This role is responsible for driving the growth of our mining business, with a primary focus on industrial elevator sales in Western Australia, as well as expansion into adjacent markets such as Indonesia. Ideal candidates will possess a robust background in industrial equipment sales, with specific experience in the mining sector.

The primary goal is to increase revenue for Alimak Group's Industrial Division by proactively developing a strong sales pipeline and effectively managing market activities with a results-oriented approach.

This role will report directly to the Industrial Division Manager.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Driving profitable business & distributor development in accordance with agreed budget and Group policy.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in Western Australia's mining sector and some business development in Asia.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Alimak industrial elevators and effectively communicate their benefits to prospective clients.
  • Create and implement sales strategies tailored to the unique needs of the Western Australian market.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Be at the forefront of Alimak's future growth in industrial traction lift sales in Western Australia.
  • Instigate customer visits to create new and maintain existing relationships.
  • Work closely with the Aftersales department to drive spare parts sales and growth, including refurbishment works.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the industry.
  • Lead negotiations and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships

Commercial and Financial Management

  • Reporting on financial KPI's, the submission of quarterly forecasts and assisting with the development of the divisional budget for your region.
  • You will be expected to have a good understanding of contracts and negotiate commercial terms in accordance with Group guidance / policy

Safety & Compliance

  • Manage interface between the factory and sales office to identify areas of continuous improvement.
  • Be compliant with all local regulations and Alimak Group safety policies

Qualifications & Competencies:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience:
    Minimum 3-5 years of B2B sales experience in industrial equipment, with a preference for experience in the mining sector or other heavy industry
  • Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of industrial elevators, particularly Alimak products, or similar vertical access solutions a benefit.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Network:
    Established network within the Australian mining industry is highly desirable.
  • Travel:
    Willingness to travel throughout Western Australia as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • HSEQ Management:
    Knowledgeable in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management. Familiar with trade bodies and health and safety legislation
  • Financial Acumen
    : Experience in budget planning, business planning, KPIs, and performance measurement. Solid understanding of economics and proficient in estimating
  • Commercial & Sales & Project Management:
    Skilled in commercial and financial management. Experienced in sales management and distributor development. Project Management skills and experience to support larger projects, which may include interstate travel.
