About Blum
Blum is an international company that specialises in the production of functional furniture fittings. The company's main product groups are lift systems, hinges and drawer systems for furniture – in particular, kitchen furniture.
Blum is a family-owned company, and that is why we focus on people. We believe success is due to our employees' identification with the company, their readiness to perform, and capacity to learn.
It's quite simple. We all work hard at Blum to be a good partner for our customers.
Blum not only considers whether an idea is feasible, but also what benefit it is to all those involved. We work together with customers and employees. We put our heads together to develop future-oriented solutions that best meet everyone's needs. Together, we discuss new ideas and solutions for a better quality of living.
About the role
We are now searching for an Area Manager to join our Western Australia Sales Team. Reporting to the WA State Sales Manager, an Area Manager's purpose is to plan and carry out sales activities to maintain and develop sales of Blum's product range to an aligned market. This includes major accounts and specifiers, in accordance with agreed business plans.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Plan and carry out regular call cycle to maintain, develop and secure market share.
- Maintain existing customers and develop new customers through planned individual account support and liaison.
- Maintain regular communication with our Distributor's Area Managers and Territory Managers.
- Plan and carry out sales activities to key manufacturers, kitchen retailers, showrooms, and the general manufacturing industry.
- Respond to and follow up on sales enquiries by email, telephone and personal visits in a prompt and efficient manner. Document interaction as per Blum's internal processes.
- Train and present our product solutions to manufacturers, kitchen retailers, showrooms and the general manufacturing industry.
- Data entry and maintenance of a Customer Management Tool.
- Promoting and representing Blum at trade events and regional shows as necessary.
- Work autonomously, while maintaining a high level of communication to the State Sales Manager.
About you
We want someone who sees the long-term growth, highly collaborative, and embodies our brand values. Position titles are not important to us; work ethic and teamwork are what we look for.
Your skills and experiences should include:
- Ideally from the cabinetry, joinery, hardware, or kitchen industry (warehouse, installer, cabinetmaker, showroom, etc.)
- Customer service focused.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Well-developed inter-personal skills and adept negotiating skills.
- Solid organisation, problem solving and time management skills.
- Effective verbal, written, presentation and listening communications skills.
- Sound knowledge of computer literacy.
- Experience in the kitchen manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of portraying and maintaining excellent company, and personal presentation standards.
- A valid full Australian driver licence is essential.
While this role is based at our Western Australia showroom, you will be required to frequently travel within the aligned territory and from time-to-time travel to Sydney for conferences.
This role offers more than a chance to represent our premium brand; you will receive the training and support to truly succeed. You will be rewarded with a friendly, dynamic support network, as well as a Tool of Trade vehicle, laptop, iPad, phone and a competitive salary. In return, you will be part of a stable, fun, and collaboratively work environment.
