About the Opportunity

As a Business Intelligence Developer within our Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA) team, you will help make a real difference in healthcare through the design, development, and support of high-quality analytics tools and reporting solutions used by Local Health Districts and the NSW Ministry of Health. Your work will ensure critical health data is transformed into actionable insights to inform key decisions across the health system.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a range of complex and meaningful analytics projects that support the delivery and improvement of public health services. You'll work with large-scale health datasets and tools such as SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and business intelligence platforms across both Windows and Linux/Unix environments

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain responsive, reliable, and maintainable dashboards, reports, extracts, and analytics tools.
  • Analyse user requirements and provide tailored technical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Lead support and incident management activities across SDPR platforms, ensuring high performance and service quality.
  • Implement performance testing and manage change processes for reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver easy-to-use, plain language tools that enhance understanding and use of health data.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has advanced SQL skills and experience in a large, complex service industry environment
  • Brings extensive knowledge of complex data models and demonstrated experience working with large and complex databases
  • Is experienced with analytics tools, SSIS, data warehousing, ETL processes and writing custom SQL queries for reporting and dashboards.
  • Holds a relevant qualification in Computer Science or a related field
  • Can work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating resilience and problem-solving under pressure.
  • Has experience with version control, change management processes, and requirement gathering for reporting solutions.
  • Provides technical consultation on upgrades, installations, and modifications related to performance testing and analytics tools.

You will succeed in this role if you:

  • Enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same.
  • Are motivated by tight deadlines and problem solving on the go.
  • Can juggle multiple priorities while staying calm and outcome focused.
  • Thrive when collaborating with others to deliver results in a fast moving space.
