Due to continued growth Ferrycarrig have an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment and Onboarding Administrator to join our team We are seeking a proactive and organised Recruitment and Onboarding Administrator to support our People & Culture team and ensure a seamless recruitment and onboarding experience for new and existing staff

The position will be based on-site in our Head Office located in Botany.

Ferrycarrig is a leading constructor of utilities and civil infrastructure. We are a multi-disciplined contractor with the in-house resources and the capabilities to deliver all aspects of our projects.

We own and operate a large fleet of plant and equipment and employ a large, diverse workforce that has extensive experience delivering large and complex utilities and civil infrastructure projects.

Ferrycarrig has made a significant contribution to some of Sydney's largest and most significant infrastructure projects delivered in recent years, including Sydney Light Rail, Parramatta Light Rail, Sydney Metro, Western Sydney Airport, and the New Sydney Fish Markets.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage and lead the end-to-end recruitment process and onboarding for blue and white-collar staff
  • Build and maintain a diverse talent pool for future hiring needs by proactively engaging with potential candidates
  • Conduct site visits to address employee concerns and ensure HR compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Coordinate IT onboarding/offboarding (laptops, phones, software access)
  • Maintain and update IT and asset registers across all sites
  • Organise travel bookings, accommodation, and logistics as needed
  • Oversee office amenities (e.g. canteen supplies, printers)
  • Draft internal communications, memos, and social media content
  • Coordinate employee awards and support staff engagement activities
  • Provide day-to-day admin support to the People & Culture and Head Office teams

What skills are we looking for?
Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Understanding of recruitment processes and candidate lifecycle
  • Ability to coordinate interviews, reference checks, and onboarding activities
  • Experience preparing employment contracts and new starter documentation
  • Strong attention to detail in managing employee records and compliance
  • Familiarity with HR systems, databases, or applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Knowledge of Fair Work Act, workplace rights, and WHS standards (preferred)

Communication & People Skills

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with staff, candidates, and external providers
  • Discretion in handling confidential information

Organisational & Time Management Skills

  • Excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong follow-up and task ownership

Tech & Systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with onboarding platforms, HRIS, and digital documentation tools
  • Experience coordinating IT equipment and setup (laptops, phones, software access)

Problem-Solving & Initiative

  • Proactive in identifying issues and streamlining processes
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
  • Flexible and solutions-focused approach to administrative challenges
