About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at our renowned Greek restaurant in Coolangatta, Queensland. Xenia is more than a restaurant — it's a celebration of family, tradition, and the Greek spirit of hospitality. What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management
  • Lead and mentor a skilled team of chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences
  • Ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and presentation in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting professional development and a commitment to excellence
  • Collaborate with the Group Kitchen operations team to develop innovative menu items and optimise operational efficiency
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Formal culinary training and a proven track record of creating exceptional Greek and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a kitchen team
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house staff
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
