Assistant Front Office Manager

An exciting career opportunity is now available for an Assistant Front Office Manager (perfect for an experienced Duty Manager looking to take the next step) to lead our busy Front Office and Food & Beverage teams here at the Mantra Terrace Hotel in Brisbane.

The hotel is centrally located only a short distance from the Brisbane CBD; with everything a guest could want right on our doorstop. With a modest 85 rooms, across three categories, Mantra Terrace Hotel is a tidy little hotel, overflowing with potential (just looking for the right people bring it out).

Managed by leading hospitality management company 1834 Hotels. The successful candidate will be a dedicated, hard-working, and hands-on hospitality management professional with a passion for driving loyalty, growing and developing teams, managing expenses and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Work within set budgets in relation to wage costs and ensure rosters are compiled and adjusted appropriate to demand;

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of venue facilities including number, location and types of rooms;

  • Consistently drive growth of our accommodation facilities through sound marketing/up selling and staff training and development;

  • Ensure accuracy of reservations in respect of deposit information, billing, credit details, VIP guest special requests, room rates, return guest and new guest information; and

  • Maintain and develop good relationships with existing clients, local residents and businesses, as well as focusing on establishing new business.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A can-do, responsible, and flexible approach to work;

  • Comprehensive financial understanding of managing a profitable operation and managing costs particularly controlling wages;

  • Prior experience in leading, developing, and mentoring a Front Office team;

  • Initiative, commitment, and passion for your job;

  • The ability to communicate effectively with your team and other heads of department;

  • An ability to thrive under pressure and direct your team in a fast-paced environment;

  • Proven ability to be a proactive individual with strong organisational and time management skills;

  • A great sense of style and immaculate presentation and grooming;

  • Demonstrated understanding of Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 compliance; and

  • A strong appreciation and compliance of workplace safety.

This is a full-time salaried role, working a spread of shifts over a 7-day roster; including weekdays, weekends, nights, and public holidays.
