The Royal Automobile Club of Australia (RACA) is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at our prestigious private members' club in Circular Quay. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly alongside our Executive Chef in a supportive and professional environment, while refining your culinary skills across multiple outlets.

Our Club features:

  • A private members' restaurant
  • Multiple function spaces and event areas
  • A rooftop BBQ and terrace
  • A members' bar
  • A dynamic calendar of events, including multi-course wine dinners, prestige car company showcases, and more

About You

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous
  • A la carte and function experience (essential)
  • Skilled across a variety of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
  • Ability to multitask across multiple outlets simultaneously
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of modern cooking practices
  • Formal culinary training (essential)
  • Full Australian working rights

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain high standards of quality
  • Manage, train, and coordinate kitchen staff, including rostering
  • Step in for the Executive Chef when required
  • Ensure correct care, maintenance, and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment
  • Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
  • Lead with professionalism, problem-solving skills, and clear communication
