About the role:
We are looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Manager, Dealer Support - Technical to lead the National Customer Support Department at Mazda Australia. In this key leadership role, you will drive a culture of exceptional customer service and technical excellence within the Dealer Support team, ensuring alignment with Mazda Australia's organisational and operational objectives. This position requires hands-on management, stakeholder engagement, innovation leadership, and budget oversight to maintain Mazda's industry-leading warranty and post-warranty support.
This position requires a full-time, in-office presence five days a week, fostering a collaborative work environment and promoting effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide strategic direction to the Dealer Support team to meet budgetary and key performance indicators.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance dealership technical capabilities and warranty support services.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders including Mazda's Dealer Network, Mazda Motor Corporation, government, and industry bodies.
- Monitor and report on the performance of key programs, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage annual Warranty and Post Warranty Support budgets with a focus on cost containment while maintaining superior customer service.
- Identify and lead innovation projects in people, processes, and technology that support Mazda's growth mindset and organisational strategy.
- Oversee timely preparation and support of company vehicles for marketing and PR purposes.
- Support field technical support activities, ensuring effective resolution of complex technical issues and minimizing impact on dealers and customers.
- Manage staff development, performance, and engagement within the Customer Support Department.
About You:
You bring a tertiary qualification combined with an automotive trade qualification at Master Technician level, supported by at least 8 years post-qualification experience, including 3 years managing dealer workshops and a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Your strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills enable you to lead teams efficiently while driving innovation and process improvement.
You are highly skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PDF Writer) and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Your methodical and logical approach ensures compliance with industry and regulatory standards, while fostering an empowered, motivated team environment.
