About the role:

Join Rawson Group as a Sales Estimator to help our dynamic team prepare sales estimates, pricing and scope management for submission of tenders and client variations. Your expertise will enable Rawson to maintain a competitive edge in the industry while adhering to all relevant design, regulatory and internal standards. The role will be responsible for pricing of tenders, re-tenders and variations in an accurate and timely manner by taking a collaborative approach with suppliers, contractors and internal Rawson Group teams. You will be guided by a friendly team of fellow estimators to peer reviews tenders, assist senior estimators in maintaining an accurate database and liaising with the Estimating Manager for any discrepancies in master BOQ's. We are after a team player who can share knowledge, be adaptive, plan ahead and is analytical. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage tenders including initial preparation, re-work or variations and provide custom pricing in a timely manner
  • Liaise with suppliers on non-standard variation tender details and prepare specific estimates in accordance with Rawson design principals
  • Review plans, engineers specifications, schedules and authority requirements to eliminate conflicts in information for tender submissions
  • Review job related ETS and provide detailed feedback to the Estimating Team Leader
  • Ensure all tender information is obtained and managed to prevent delay to the project

About You:

Experience:

  • Experience working with external stakeholders such as contractors or suppliers to extract information and troubleshoot problems
  • Strong ability to analyse and resolve complex problems that may include multiple parties or external stakeholders
  • Ability to make evidence-based decisions and communicate well
  • A team player who is able to share and learn from the estimating team
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes

Qualifications:

Tertiary:

  • Degree or Certificate IV in Building & Construction Management
  • Understanding of the construction process and terminology
  • Working knowledge of the Building Code and regulations

Professional:

  • Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role is preferred. Exposure to the construction sector is desirable.
