Experienced or Junior Sales and Production Estimator

We are seeking junior or experienced sales and production estimator to join our team. Just finished your construction management degree or experienced estimator wanting to make the change. We are Central Coast residential building company specializing in pre-designed and custom-built new homes, granny flats, and dual occupancy developments.

About the Opportunity and Essential Skills

This position works closely with the Head Estimator and Sales Consultant, reports to the Head Estimator and is part of the Estimating and Procurement team. The key focus is to accurately determine and calculate estimates of new quote requests and materials. More specifically, you will:

• Maintain Home and Facade sale pricing on our range of pre – designed floor plans

• Prepare and maintain upgrade pricing of products within Selection Studio

• Attend site to complete pre-construction and dilapidation reports

• Completion of sales estimates utilizing site inspection photos, reports, satellite photos, street view by maps and CAN I BUILD
• Produce high quality accurate sales estimates, final build proposals, contract documentation for building projects, ensuring compliance with Industry standards, client requirements to required builders margin rate
• Prepare project trade packages including sub-contractor agreements, material lists, scopes of work, construction programs, trade preliminaries, purchase and work orders, contract documentation, and quality plans
• Attend site to review and understand construction methods and apply these to estimating
• Budget management experience, including good pricing skills across all trades, ability to identify and account for project risk through contingencies and opportunities for cost improvements
• Reading, interpreting construction plans, product installation guides, compliance, and construction methodology to ensure estimates reflect sufficient labour to perform these works onsite
• Creating design, approval, building contract variations pricing and scope of works preparation
• Negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors to maximize service delivery and achieve business cost savings
• Appraisal of external reports to assist in costing each project
• Carry out manual take offs, prepare, and issue purchase orders prior to site start with accuracy
• Obtain quotes from relevant suppliers and trades for specific work
• Contract administration and project scheduling
• Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in other areas across the business for the successful project delivery on time and within budget

Experience Required

You will share a passion for accuracy, be passionate about building quality-built homes and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:

• Completed Bachelor of Construction Management or similar qualification required
• 1-3 years' experience with residential builder is a must
• Superior organisational skills
• Knowledge of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards and Manufacturers Installation Requirements
• Experience interpreting building plans, associated reports and documentation
• Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and strive to reach targets
• Extraordinary communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• You must be conscientious towards your work with the ability to handle numerous projects effectively and efficiently
• Ability to work autonomously and within team environment
• Would consider enthusiastic Cadet currently undertaking a degree in Construction Management
