La Belle Miette, Melbourne's macaron, chocolate and French tea specialist patisserie, is seeking a casual pastry chef to assist with macaron production in our Richmond kitchen. La Belle Miette produce a premium, specialist product, with stores in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, and an impressive list of luxury corporate clients.

Great working hours (no early mornings or late nights) in a centrally located kitchen. You will work with a friendly young team, working with excellent ingredients and making beautiful products. The full-time pastry chefs have a three day weekend, no early mornings, no late nights or weekends.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in a commercial pastry kitchen highly valued but not essential
  • Experience in macaron or chocolate production valued but not essential
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and a visual eye; take pride in your work
  • Be highly organised, able to multi-task and prioritise tasks and projects
  • High initiative/proactivity

A little about La Belle Miette

La Belle Miette (meaning the "beautiful crumb" or "beautiful small thing") is a passion for macarons and French taste more generally. We specialise in small delights – macarons, chocolate bonbons, and the largest range in Australia of tea from Mariage Frères, the leading tea house of Paris. The detail and attention inherent in our products is congruent with a range of elements that the company strives to deliver in all areas of the customer experience.

Founders Maylynn and Hugh lead a devoted team in continuing to grow, develop and evolve the company. La Belle Miette has stores in Melbourne, Chadstone, QVB Sydney and Canberra Centre.

About You

  • A trained pastry chef, ideally with some commercial kitchen experience
  • Keen to learn and develop in the role
  • Love working as part of a small cohesive team
  • High initiative/proactivity
  • Positive can-do attitude
