About the Role

Our Head Pastry Chef will oversee the day-to-day running of the Pastry Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring the Pastry Team, ensuring a collaborative, progressive and positive working environment. The Head Pastry Chef will have creative outlet to drive product innovation through research and development whilst also maintaining quality control.

Responsibilities:

· Deliver consistent high-quality products using efficient production methods, processes and schedules, and making improvements where required.

· Play an active role in leading product innovation and development, including creating monthly specials, adding new product lines and collaborating with suppliers.

· Active management of the pastry team including rostering, performance management, training and progression planning.

· Manage budgets (Wages and COGs) and maintain stock levels

· Collaborate with the management team to continually refine strategic direction, quality control, operations, workforce management and financial performance.

· Foster strong cross-team communication to drive efficiency and collaboration within the workplace

· Ensure compliance with all food safety standards, internal policies and procedures, and OH&S regulations.

About you:

· You will have a minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience as a Head Pastry Chef.

· Your leadership experience will be in a busy, high quality production kitchen or restaurant setting.

· You will have experience with end-to-end product development.

· You will be able to demonstrate your experience leading a successful team.

· Experience with rostering, stock control and budgeting is important.

· Excellent time management skills and an innovative, creative mindset is crucial.
