COORDINATOR
Job Title: Coordinator – Glen Innes & District Community Centre
Reports To: Management Committee
Location: Glen Innes, NSW
Hours: Negotiable
Classification: Social & Community Services Employee
Job Summary:
We are looking for someone special to replace our cherished community centre coordinator. If you think you have what it takes, submit your resume and a cover letter telling us why you think you are the right person for the job.
The Community Centre Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering programs and services offered at the Glen Innes and District Community Centre. This role ensures that the centre operates smoothly, meets community needs, and serves as a welcoming and inclusive space for all.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organise, and oversee day-to-day operations of the community centre
Develop, schedule, and implement programs, workshops, and events aligned with community needs
Supervise and actively support staff and volunteers
Manage hall, offices, and facilities bookings
Report contractual data to DCJ
Prepare regular reports for the management committee
Promote the Community Centre through newsletters, social media, and community outreach events
Co-ordinate and minute the monthly local service network meetings
Menu planning within a strict budget for the free weekly community lunch
Support fundraising, grant writing, and community engagement initiatives
Participate in team meetings, training, and performance management, contributing positively to a collaborative work environment
Engage with community members to assess needs and gather feedback
Build and maintain partnerships with local organisations, schools, and other stakeholders
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and child protection laws
Qualifications:
Qualification and/or experience in one or more of the following fields:
Community Services, Disability Support, Education Support, Business Administration.
Familiarity with Xero accounting system will be highly regarded
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain and ability to uphold)
Australian Federal Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain and ability to uphold)
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Current open Driver's Licence
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite
Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
What You'll Bring:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to assess situations or circumstances empathically
The ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and maintain confidentiality
Experience in administrative tasks and client support
Knowledge of social issues affecting individuals and our local community
- A strong understanding of collaboration with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations
