The Manager Bid & Proposals is responsible for maximising bid win rates for opportunities associated with Nova Systems' Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) focussed Business Units. Reporting to the Director Growth ANZ, this role will drive business growth though the professionalisation and governance of the capture and bid phases of the Nova Systems Lifecycle Management (LCM) Framework, establishing a position to win and driving to closure through to contract award.
The Manager Bid & Proposals will work with internal teams on all aspects of high strategic value and complex captures with a focus on developing and implementing successful capture/bid win strategies, the management of all stakeholders and ensuring alignment of the needs of the client and our value proposition.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture Management
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise to ensure the capture process is optimised for Business Winning.
- Collaborate with the Growth Business Development Managers and ANZ Business Units to help build effective, motivated, and winning capture teams focused on shaping and influencing the client to maximise Nova Systems' probability of winning.
- Implement and oversee capture management tools, processes and best practices to establish, update and execute, winning capture strategies and plans.
- Drive capture teams to develop differentiated client focused solutions and win strategies based on analysis of client issues, hot buttons and key performance parameters, and an assessment of competitor's potential solutions.
Bid and Proposal Process
- Work with the relevant Business Development Manager and/or Business Units to help develop bid strategies, plans and budgets, and effectively transition business opportunities from Prospect to Bid phases of the LCM Framework.
- Lead timely production of professional, accurate and strategically aligned bids and associated submissions, presentations, and other business development material for key client opportunities.
- Lead internal professionalisation, training and mentoring of Nova Systems' Capture Managers and Bid Leads.
Continuous Improvement
- Manage the ongoing development and update of a bid collateral library.
- Drive ongoing review and improvement of Nova Systems' capture and bid processes, ultimately contributing to increased bid win rates.
- Ensure lessons learned reviews are conducted for capture and bid activities, and outcomes are incorporated as process improvements as appropriate.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Proactively maintain constructive working relationships across Nova Systems to ensure solutions are optimised, efficient and leverage 'whole of organisation' capability and insights.
Essential requirements:
- Demonstrated capture experience with strong knowledge of bidding best practices and associated process development and implementation.
- Demonstrated experience in bid and proposal management, including winning new, repeat or follow on business through leading and delivering winning bids.
- Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in business winning strategies.
- Experienced people leader with strong influencing and negotiating skills that can be applied to senior stakeholders within Nova Systems, capture teams, and industry partners.
- Deep industry knowledge, including market trends, competitor strategies, and evolving customer needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools with strong reviewing, proofing and editing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Australian citizenship, with the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) NV1 security clearance.
- APMP Certification or Shipley training
- Ability to travel interstate as required.
