The opportunity
Mirrimpilyi Muurpa-Nara Aboriginal Corporation is seeking full time Early Intervention Case Workers to join their team in Broken Hill, Menindee or Mildura, NSW. As a Case Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable children, young people and families in the local community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide early intervention and case management support to children, young people and families to improve outcomes and prevent escalation of issues
- Develop and implement tailored support plans to address the specific needs of each client
- Collaborate with other community services and agencies to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports as required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery through feedback and participation in team meetings
- Represent the organisation professionally and positively in the local community.
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or a related field / experience
- Demonstrated experience in case management, preferably within a community services or child/family welfare setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Commitment to strengths-based and trauma-informed practice
- Understanding of the unique cultural needs and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the local region.
