Sous Chef

A fast-growing hospitality group is currently seeking passionate and motivated sous chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef based in one of our restaurants in Hyde Park, you will be responsible for maintaining the food standards set by the head chef, creating specials in accordance with the venue's food focus, and ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean and meets sanitation standards.
Experience as a sous chef is preferable but not essential; if you are ready to step up to the next level in your cooking career, we encourage you to apply. The successful candidate will work split shifts and weekends for 40 to 45 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the food standards set by the head chef
- Create specials in accordance with the venue's food focus
- Be a team player and communicate effectively with the kitchen team, front of house, and management
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining stock levels
- Work independently, be able to handle pressure and deal with any issues in the absence of head chef
- Responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and maintaining sanitation standards
Qualifications:
- Qualification in cookery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
- A team player with a positive attitude
