Chitwan Tass and Momo House is a popular Nepalese restaurant in Auburn, known for serving authentic flavours, delicious momos, and heartwarming hospitality. We're growing and looking for passionate kitchen professionals to join our dynamic team

Chef Responsibilities:

  • Design menus, estimate food and labour expenses, and arrange the purchase of ingredients and supplies.
  • Oversee the quality and presentation of dishes throughout the cooking process.
  • Communicate with management, dietitians, and kitchen or service staff regarding food preparation and service matters.
  • Demonstrate cooking methods and provide guidance on culinary techniques.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals to a high standard.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Participate in the selection and training of kitchen team members.
  • Preserve and store food items, including freezing when necessary.

Cook Responsibilities:

  • Inspect food ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Monitor and adjust the temperature of ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes.
  • Season dishes appropriately during the cooking process.
  • Portion and plate meals attractively with sauces, gravies, and garnishes.
  • Store food safely in temperature-controlled areas.
  • Prepare meals catering to special dietary needs when required.
  • Assist in menu planning and estimating food and ingredient quantities.
  • Support in training and guiding kitchen assistants and apprentices.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a commercial kitchen for atleast 1 year (Nepalese cuisine preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Positive attitude and a team player.
