North Brighton Kindergarten provides sessional programs for 3- and 4-year-olds, rooted in a philosophy that nurtures children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence through intentional learning and play. Our play-based pedagogy supports exploration, discovery, and growth in a safe, supportive environment. Run by a committed volunteer Committee of Management, we are a highly sought-after kindergarten for local families, deeply embedded in our community.

Description

North Brighton Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and dedicated Co-Educator to join our experienced teaching team. This role supports both 4-year-old groups (25 children per group), working Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

You will work alongside a skilled teaching team to deliver a high-quality program that nurtures children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence through intentional learning and play. Our play-based pedagogy encourages exploration, discovery, and growth in a safe, supportive environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • A sound understanding of child safe practices
  • A commitment to embedding First Nations perspectives in daily practice and interactions with children
  • A passion for supporting children's learning, development, and transition to school, with an understanding of the VEYLDF and NQS.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with a dedicated, enthusiastic teaching team

Qualifications

  • An approved Diploma level Education and Care qualification (or equivalent), or working towards a qualification in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • A current Employee Working With Children Check
  • A current approved First Aid qualification, including Anaphylaxis, Epipen, and Emergency Asthma Management training
  • Completion of the PROTECT: Protecting Children – Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations for the Early Childhood Sector online module
  • Sound knowledge of Child Safe legislation

We are also open to splitting this role, with the option to work with either the Lorikeet Group (Monday/Wednesday) or the Possum Group (Tuesday/Thursday). Each role includes 13 contact hours plus 4 hours planning time per week. There is also an opportunity to work a Friday 8am - 4: hour contact + 2 hours planning)
