The Role

We are looking to appoint an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our busy team based in Yatala. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts receivable transactions, including processing of all payments from contractors / clients across our East Coast division.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Creating sales invoices for customers, processing of receipts and all aspects of credit control
  • Revenue management and analysis with operational team
  • Create new invoices, marry completed to work instructions and enter sales into Sage
  • Follow up on outstanding invoice payments, receive money and make debtors collections by mail or telephone
  • Liaise with relevant legal representation in respect to any non-payment or other credit issues
  • Advise operational staff of non-payments, debtors and ensure operational staff adhere to any stop credit instructions
  • Provide accounts receivable and purchase order advice and information to staff across the company in addition to vendors and suppliers as required
  • Maintain the accounts receivable system, including records of payments, contractor / client payment details, and other relevant information to ensure that it is up to date and accurate
  • Assist with managing all company bank accounts, bank reconciliation, debtors, creditors and general ledger journals
  • Process customer credit applications including credit checks and maintain credit limits
  • Manage and maintain bank guarantees required to be held by customers
  • Assist AP with invoice processing in our system as required
  • Other duties as required

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivables and maintaining general ledgers
  • Intermediate - Advanced MS Office skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Customer focused
