Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Major Sporting Club

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are partnering with an historic and premier sporting destination in South Australia to find a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a unique, on-site, full-time role based in Stirling, SA, leading the club's transformation into a world-class resort.

Salary & Tenure:

  • Negotiable in the range of $180,000 - $190,000 plus superannuation per annum.
  • Full-time and ongoing employment.

The Role:

This is more than a typical CEO position. As the central leader, you will be responsible for stabilizing current operations and driving the club's ambitious future. The successful candidate will act as the crucial on-site link for our Melbourne-based Director and be the public face of the club in the community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the business plan, focusing on aggressive membership growth, new revenue streams from tourism and events, and the overall transformation of the club.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations and financial management across all departments, ensuring profitability and high service standards.
  • Project Leadership: Lead the significant $80M+ resort redevelopment project, acting as the primary liaison with architects, contractors, and regulators to ensure a seamless execution.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local government, tourism bodies, and industry partners to secure the club's position as a key regional destination.

Key Selection Criteria:

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced leader with a proven track record in strategic and project management. The successful applicant must demonstrate:

  • Qualifications & Experience: A Bachelor's degree or higher is highly preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant senior management experience in the hospitality, tourism, or sports/recreation sectors will be considered.
  • Skills: Exceptional financial acumen, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage diverse teams and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Working Rights: Must hold full, unrestricted Australian working rights (i.e., Australian citizen or permanent resident).
