Key Responsibilities:

You will coordinate and manage logistics for our programs and operations as a logistics officer. Your primary duties will include:

1. Logistics Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and execute logistics plans to support program operations.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Prepare and manage schedules for transporting goods, equipment, and supplies.

2. Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee inventory control, ensuring adequate stock levels for operational needs.
  • Conduct regular audits to track inventory and report discrepancies.

3. Supplier and Vendor Management:

  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts, secure goods, and arrange deliveries.
  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing and reliability.
  • Ensure all procurement processes comply with Human Appeal Australia's standards.

4. Shipping and Documentation:

  • Manage shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Track shipments to ensure timely delivery, resolve any delays or issues, and document receipt of goods.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics-related documents and transactions.

5. Team Coordination and Support:

  • Support field teams by providing logistical guidance, tools, and resources.
  • Train and mentor junior logistics staff as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.

6. Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure logistics processes adhere to all regulatory, legal, and ethical guidelines.
  • Generate regular reports on logistics activities, including inventory, shipping, and supplier performance.

Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).


• 2+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in a humanitarian or non-profit organization.


• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.


• Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
