About the role

Our client is a fast-growing SME consulting firm seeking a senior leader to establish and expand their ICT practice within the Defence sector. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead a function, build a team & drive growth while remaining hands on in delivery.

You will take responsibility for shaping and expanding the firm's Defence ICT capability, working across established panel arrangements such as the ICTPA. The role requires a balance of practice leadership, client engagement, business development & direct program delivery. You will be instrumental in setting the vision for the ICT practice, driving growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects and services to Defence clients. You will be backed by an established and successful consulting firm with the infrastructure, systems, and support already in place to enable you to succeed.

About You

  • Extensive experience in Defence ICT projects, either consulting or direct
  • Demonstrated success in practice or business unit leadership
  • Proven ability to win and deliver work through panel arrangements (ICTPA experience highly desirable)
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • NV1/NV2/TSPV clearance
  • Strategic mindset combined with willingness to remain close to delivery
  • Canberra based
  • Eager to work within a smaller consulting firm environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and growth of the Defence ICT practice
  • Build and manage strong client relationships within Defence and associated stakeholders
  • Oversee delivery of projects, ensuring quality outcomes and compliance with panel arrangements such as ICTPA
  • Help recruit, mentor & develop a high performing team
  • Contribute to strategy, business development & winning work within Defence and Government
  • Maintain a balance of leadership responsibilities and hands on delivery
