Cleared are supporting the Intel Agencies are looking to speak to TSPV Hardware Technician for multiple positions.

This opportunity is for an ICT Hardware Technician for the High-Performance Computing Section of Technology Foundations Branch.
This is a 12-month contract with possibility to extend.

Canberra Based at HMAS Harmon.

You will need to already to hold a TSPV clearance

**Overview of Responsibilities**

**Specific Criteria**:

- Experience with HPE or similar servers, storage systems, and optical fibre patching.
- Installations and de-installations of HPC and related systems, hardware components and operating systems.
- Hardware and network diagnostic testing and fault management.
- Provide assistance with maintaining hardware specific software/firmware repository.
- Provide assistance with maintaining asset inventory and equipment sanitisations and disposals.
- Provide technical case management support with vendors.

Conducts tests of hardware and/or software using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools. Corrects malfunctions, calling on other experienced colleagues and external resources if required. Documents details of all hardware/software items that have been installed and removed so that configuration management records can be updated. Develops installation procedures and standards, and schedules installation work. Provides specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure best use is made of available assets, and to maintain or improve the installation service.
- Prioritises and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution. Escalates unresolved incidents. Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents. Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
- Carries out agreed operational procedures, including network configuration, installation, and maintenance. Uses network management tools to collect and report on network load and performance statistics. Contributes to the implementation of maintenance and installation work. Uses standard procedures and tools to carry out defined system backups, restoring data where necessary. Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution.
